COMMUNICATIONS & CAMPAIGN SUPPORT COORDINATOR
THE ROLE
The Campaign Support Coordinator will report to the Director of
Democratic Affairs?and will work closely with other Maynooth
Students? Union staff and officers on a range of areas. The Campaign
Support Coordinator will play a key role in the development and
delivery of campaigns and support the development of content for
digital and offline publications.
Applicants will hold a primary degree or relative relevant experience.
They will also have experience in the creation of media for digital
platforms and assisting in campaign content creation and delivery.
This is an excellent opportunity to deliver new and innovative ways to
promote the activities and campaigns of Maynooth Students? Union to
its stakeholders.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES
ADMINISTRATIVE AND OTHER DUTIES:
This will include:
* Collaborate with colleagues to plan, deliver, and review Maynooth
Students? Union campaigns and support events
* Supporting the writing, reviewing, editing, and design of Maynooth
Students? Union publications and promotional materials (annual
student handbook, websites, marketing materials, activity report)
* Develop, review, and monitor content (copy, graphic, video)
published from Maynooth Students? Union digital platforms
* Developing and enhancing the Maynooth Students? Union website,
conducting content audits to identify gaps and redundancies in the
site content
* Collaborate with colleagues to determine survey needs and plan,
implement, and evaluate surveys
* Shape and communicate Maynooth Students? Union?s brand
identity and ensure its consistent usage across internal and external
digital and offline publications
* Coordinate the activities of the student creative team with the
design of promotional materials
* Stay up to date with latest sector trends and practices
* Carry out ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the Director of Democratic
Affairs
NOTE: as the Maynooth Students? Union continues to expand and
evolve, it is likely that some flexibility, regarding the allocation
of specific duties, will be necessary. Accordingly, the list of duties
detailed above is not intended to be exclusive or restrictive; duties
may be added or withdrawn but any such alterations will take place
within the remit of campaign support.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
ESSENTIAL
* Primary degree or relative relevant experience
* An understanding and appreciation of the Maynooth Students?
Union?s purpose, and the desire to contribute positively to the
student experience
* A collaborative working style with the ability to develop strong
relationships and engagement with the Maynooth Students? Union
community and external stakeholders
* Experience in audio and video production tools
* Experience of use of social media for marketing and communication
purposes
* Experience of using social media in a campaigning context
* Understanding and experience of applying branding principles
across social media
* Ability to work under pressure to high standards and high level of
accuracy and attention to detail
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and
verbal)
* Excellent time keeping, reliability and a high level of motivation
* Proactive, energetic, enthusiastic and adaptable approach to a
variety of tasks and projects
* Experience of delivering excellent digital user experience
* Experience in use of sensitive/confidential material
DESIRABLE
* Postgraduate qualification in related discipline
* Previous students? union experience
* Understanding of the students? union sector
* Evidence of taking the lead in the design and implementation of
projects, campaigns, and events
* Ability to prioritise and deliver high quality work with minimum
supervision
* Experience in the use of content management systems
* Basic understanding of GDPR
MAYNOOTH STUDENTS? UNION
Maynooth Students? Union is the representative body for the students
of Maynooth University (MU) and Saint Patricks College Maynooth (SPCM)
and seeks to serve their social, cultural, welfare, educational,
political, and developmental needs, to further their interests, and
generally to enhance their well-being. MSU operate a student centre
and provides a range of supports and other services to the student
body. MSU also operates as a registered club for the purposes of
running a members Bar (and venue).
MSU is an unincorporated association whose aims and objectives are
defined by its Constitution adopted by its members.
MSU?s activities are primarily directed through the MSU Executive
(comprising elected Full Time and Part Time Officers) with policy
oversight from the MSU Student Senate (comprising the MSU Executive,
Student Academic Reps, Clubs & Societies Council Members, and directly
elected Student Senators, representing various interests) together
with governance oversight from the MSU Board of Trustees. The MSU
President is the prime student representative. The MSU President is
assisted by the MSU Executive, the MSU Student Senate, and by the MSU
Operations & Finance Manager and their staff.
MSU is a member organisation with the Union of Students in Ireland.
SELECTION AND APPOINTMENT

* Appointments will be approved by the Board of Trustees based on
the recommendation of the interview panel
* It is anticipated that interviews will be held during the week

Fulltime position with Maynooth Students? Union made permanent
subject to completion of probationary period. Salary band of
